Maurizio Delfanti among international experts contributing to Canada’s electricity strategy
Professor Maurizio Delfanti, faculty member of the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano, took part in a high-level international discussion focused on the development of Canada’s future national electricity strategy.edicato allo sviluppo della futura strategia elettrica nazionale del Canada.
During the discussion, Maurizio Delfanti, together with Paolo Rocco Viscontini (President of Italia Solare), shared European experiences and models, with a particular focus on the Italian context. Specifically, their contribution highlighted:
the body of industrial expertise developed by Italia Solare
the regulatory experience gained over more than twenty years by the Department of Energy
The exchange with experts from Canada, the United States, Spain, and China provided an opportunity to identify approaches and solutions to address the challenges of the energy transition and large-scale electrification.
The discussions were based on a blueprint paper developed by Jatin Nathwani and Kam Mofid (Balsillie School Fellows), intended to contribute to the definition of Canada’s future National Electricity Strategy, highlighting its benefits in terms of economic competitiveness, national security, and sustainability.
Professor Delfanti’s participation confirms the role of the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano in leading international contexts focused on the transformation of electricity systems.
“The exchange with the Canadian context represented an important opportunity to share European and Italian regulatory experience in the development of increasingly integrated and sustainable electricity systems. Dialogue between research, industry, and institutions is a key element in effectively addressing the challenges of the energy transition.”
