Our Mission

Driving the Just Energy Transition

Research is the defining feature of the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano. Every day, the Department advances scientific progress to tackle the challenges of the energy transition and energy security. In close collaboration with leading universities, companies and research bodies both nationally and internationally, it is dedicated to exploring new perspectives, identifying emerging topics and developing innovative technologies with a focus on full environmental sustainability. The goal is to make these solutions quickly accessible, generating a concrete and positive impact on society.

The Department’s research activities cover thermofluid dynamics, energy production and use in industry and buildings, electrical and nuclear engineering, chemical processes and energy materials.
