La sezione si occupa della modellazione teorica e dello sviluppo sperimentale nei seguenti settori: fisica dei reattori, strumenatzione e misure, impianti e dei sistemi nucleari , analisi del rischio, affidabilità e sicurezza, dosimetria e sviluppo di sensorii, radiochimica e smaltimento dei rifiuti radioattivi (decommissioning).
