Intellectual Property: an open lecture on administrative proceedings for the revocation and invalidation of trademark rights
On 5 May 2025 (2:15-5:30 p.m.), the Department of Energy is organising an open lecture entitled “Administrative Proceedings for Revocation and Nullity and Practical Implications”, held by Dr. Laura Pedemonte, a licensed representative at the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). During the meeting, the speaker will guide participants through the legislation and practices related to administrative revocation and invalidity proceedings concerning the validity of trademark rights in Italy, analysing each stage of the procedure in detail: from the parties entitled to appeal to the procedures for challenging decisions.
Particular focus will be given to the differences between Italian and European proceedings handled by the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), with concrete examples that will help to understand the challenges associated with these complex proceedings.
This is an opportunity to explore a crucial topic for those working in administrative law and intellectual property, with practical examples and international comparisons that will make the subject even more fascinating.
The event will be held on campus (at the Department of Energy headquarters in Via Lambruschini 4, Building BL25, Milan, with 60 places available) and online via the Microsoft Teams platform.
Participation is free of charge, upon registration here.
The Order of Industrial Property Consultants has accredited the event with 3 training credits in the field of trademarks.
