The Department of Energy invites you to the STEN PhD Day, taking place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at EN:lab.  The event promoted by the PhD Program in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology (STEN), will be a valuable opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and engage with the research activities of the Department.

• 11:30–12:30 – STEN-Talk Series “Research Meets Practice” – Energy today: Challenges and opportunities for the future | From Research to Industry: Technologies, Expertise, and New Energy Value Chains with Dr. Francesca Zarri, President Assorisorse, EN:lab – Council Room

During the poster session, the PhD candidates of the STEN 40th cycle will present the results of their research from the first two years of their doctoral journey. Posters will be showcased throughout the day to encourage further discussions and exchanges.

The highlight of the day, at 11:30, will be the first event in the STEN-Talk Series “Research Meets Practice”, a new series of events dedicated to research, dialogue, and knowledge exchange, designed to foster connections between academia, professional practice, and the wider research community. The first seminar in the series, entitled From Research to Industry: Technologies, Expertise, and New Energy Value Chains, will feature Dr. Zarri and explore the relationship between research, innovation, and industry in the transformation of the energy and resources sectors, with a particular focus on the role of expertise and collaboration among universities, companies, and startups.
