Fluid Characterisation for Thermodynamic Cycles Laboratory (MisceLab)

Characterises fluids and fluid mixtures for use in advanced thermodynamic cycles, such as high-temperature heat pumps, transcritical cycles and refrigeration cycles. The laboratory measures density, viscosity, thermal capacity, enthalpy and VLE of mixtures.

Mobile Pilot Laboratory for CO₂ Capture with Solvents (Policap)

A ‘mobile’ pilot plant (i.e. easily transportable for testing campaigns at industrial sites), fully equipped to reconstruct mass and energy balances. It is designed to test new solvents and advanced process configurations for CO₂ capture in post-combustion applications, using synthetic or real exhaust gases with a treatment capacity of 100 Nm³/h of exhaust gas.

Thermal Measurement and Research Laboratory (MRT)
The lab conducts tests in compliance with EN 442 standards and is part of the multi-site LAB No. 00140 at Politecnico di Milano. It is ISO 17025 accredited by ACCREDIA DP and serves as a European reference laboratory for the calibration of facilities performing tests in compliance with the EN 442 standard for radiators and convectors. The laboratory provides services for the thermal power determination of heating bodies, which are essential for CE marking and continuous improvements in reference standards.
