Di Gerlando Antonino
Antonino Di Gerlando was born Milano on 1957. In 1981 he took the Laurea Degree in Electrical Engineering (5 years), with grade 100/100. From 1983 to 1998 he was assistant professor at the Politecnico di Milano (Department of Electrical Engineering). From 1998 to 2004 he was associate professor at the Politecnico di Milano (Department of Electrical Engineering). From 2004 he is full professor of Converters, Electrical Machines and Drives (ING-IND/32) at the Politecnico di Milano (Department of Energy). Main field of interest: analysis and design of static and rotating electrical machines. In particular: electromagnetic and thermal modeling of standard and special electrical machines; magnetic levitation systems; magnetostriction based special devices for structural diagnostics; energy characterization of rotating electrical machines; modeling and design of radial and axial flux permanent magnet machines; analysis of wind energy conversion systems; design and analysis of small rating special machines. He is author or co-author of 6 book chapters, two international patents, 25 papers on international scientific journals, 120 papers on international conference proceedings, 11 papers on Italian journals, 10 papers in Italian congress proceedings. In 1992 he received the “Best Paper Award” for the paper “DC Polarized Current Transformers for the Measurement of Harmonic Noise: Numerical and Experimental Analysis”, during the IEEE-ICHPS V Conference , Int. Conf. on Harmonics in Power Systems, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
