Dario Zaninelli is a full professor at Politecnico di Milano, where he obtained both his degree and his PhD in Electrical Engineering. Vice-Rector of Piacenza campus, he was also President of the Transport and Logistics Engineering degree programme.
His research, evidenced by more than 250 publications, concerns electrical systems for transport, electrical safety and safety management procedures, electrical power quality and electrical systems for energy.
Appointed by the Ministry of University and Research to the CEI Council, he was appointed by the Prime Minister as an expert on electrical systems to the Special Committee for infrastructure works of national interest to be financed with PNRR funds, established within the Higher Council of Public Works. Among his many other institutional roles, he is a full member of the Provincial Commission for the Supervision of Public Entertainment Venues of the Prefecture of Milan with regard to electrical safety aspects and, in the past, he was a member of the Commission for the Safety of Road Tunnels and the Commission for the Safety of Railway Tunnels at the Higher Council of Public Works. A Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic, he received an honorary degree in Energy Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
