Inzoli Fabio

Fabio Inzoli, born in 1959, has been Full Professor of Industrial Technical Physics at Politecnico di Milano since 2010. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1984. His research activity has focused on the development and use of models for the numerical simulation of fluid dynamics and heat transfer phenomena (CFD). Until the 2000s, his studies focused on biomedical applications in the cardiovascular sector, collaborating with international companies and hospitals. Subsequently, his research shifted to modelling heat and mass transfer in turbulent flows, with multiphase transport and applications in the oil industry. In 2001, he set up a research group for the application of CFD tools in the energy sector. He is director of the Interdepartmental Laboratory of High Performance Computing Services for thermo-fluid dynamics modelling (CFDHub@Polimi). His research activities in the field of numerical modelling are also associated with experimental activities related to multiphase transport.
Prof. Inzoli has held institutional positions at Politecnico di Milano. In 2010-2011, he was a member of the Board of Directors, and in 2013-2019, he was Director of the Department of Energy and a member of the University’s Academic Senate. Since 2025, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Politecnico di Milano.
