Ranaee Ehsan

Ehsan Ranaee, born in 1981, is a Researcher (RTD-B) in Energy Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. His recent and current research activities focus on the development of new models and methods to improve the understanding of flow and transport processes in porous media. The main applications of his research concern flow and transport processes that occur in underground reservoirs (oil or aquifers). The approaches developed in his research range from the pore scale to the field scale.

Specific topics of his research include: upscaling of flows and transport in porous media, numerical modeling at the pore and continuous scale of flows in porous media, large-scale geological energy storage, underground hydrogen storage (UHS), generation and migration of natural hydrogen in the subsurface, carbon capture and storage (CCS), enhanced oil recovery (EOR), core-flooding analysis, soil contamination monitoring, inverse modeling, stochastic evaluation, and uncertainty propagation in multiphase flow systems.
