Carraretto Igor Matteo

Igor Matteo Carraretto, born in 1991, obtained his PhD in Energy Science and Technology from Politecnico di Milano in October 2022. He began his career by experimentally studying multiphase flows, both with Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, with a particular focus on foams. During his exchange period in the United States, he focused on the rheology of foams and mixtures containing solid particles. Once back in Italy, he combined his newly acquired skills with his previous knowledge, with the aim of obtaining a model to simulate the behavior of foams inside pipes. Today, his focus has expanded to new fields of research. He is currently studying the possibility of producing clean energy and drinking water by combining concentrated solar power technology with direct osmosis, with a particular focus on polymer solutions to be used as osmotic agents. His thirst for knowledge has always been an integral part of his personality and now represents a fundamental aspect of his work.
