Gianetti Giovanni Gaetano

Giovanni Gaetano Gianetti is a Junior Researcher (RTDa) in Fluid Machinery at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 and obtained his PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology (STEN) in 2021 from the same university. As part of his PhD, between 2018 and 2019, he carried out research at EMPA – Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Switzerland), collaborating with Dr. Patrik Soltic’s research group. His research activities mainly focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of internal motions and combustion processes in internal combustion engines. Currently, his studies are particularly dedicated to modeling the diffusive combustion of alternative fuels, such as methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen, in four-stroke and two-stroke engines.

Education

B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, 2015.
M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, 2017.
Ph.D. in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology, Politecnico di Milano, 2021.
