An article by the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano has been selected as the Front Cover of the latest 2024 issue of the prestigious scientific journal ChemSusChem, dedicated to sustainable chemistry.
Politecnico offers the online course “Discovering Nuclear Science: Energy and Beyond”, aimed at all citizens who want to acquire knowledge and awareness in the nuclear field, useful for actively contributing to the development of modern society.
On 24 January 2025, the 2nd edition of the “Smart Energy for the Future” course, carried out as part of the STEN – Energy and Nuclear Sciences and Technologies Doctorate Course at the Energy Department of the Politecnico di Milano, was successfully concluded.
The tour “A journey of excellence: Universities and the Lombardy Region meet”, promoted by Alessandro Fermi, Lombardy Region’s Councillor for Universities, Research and Innovation, also made a stop at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano.
The research project ARISTOTELES (ARtificial Intelligence and STOchasTic simulation for the rEsiLience of critical infrastructurES), funded by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) under the PRIN2022 programme, aims to develop innovative solutions to increase the resilience of critical infrastructures, in particular those for energy production, transport and distribution, against natural hazards such as earthquakes and tsunamis, in a context of climate change.
The free online course “Sustainable Farm Design in Developing Countries” is now available on the POK – Polimi Open Knowledge platform.
From 3 to 6 December 2024, Riccardo Mereu and Nicolò Stevanato, lecturers at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, represented the UNESCO Chair in Energy for Sustainable Development at the International Microgrid Symposium.
Hisashi Ninokata, former visiting professor at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano and currently a collaborator of the Department, was awarded the prestigious Seaborg Medal 2024 by the American Nuclear Society (ANS).
Professors Emanuela Colombo and Diana Shendrikova contributed to ISPI’s Energy Security Focus 11.
