POLIMI European Patent Litigation Certificate 2026

On 21 May, the 2026 edition of the POLIMI European Patent Litigation Certificate course successfully concluded.

The training programme was designed to prepare graduates in technical and scientific disciplines, already qualified as European Patent Attorneys, to obtain the additional qualification of UPC Representative.

The six‑month course involved 62 European Patent Attorneys from across Europe and concluded with three days of in‑person practical exercises at the Department of Energy, followed by the final examination required to obtain the qualification.

On 22 May 2026, the conference “UPC Hot Topics: A Guided Discussion on the UPC Case Law” took place at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, bringing together UPC judges, patent attorneys, lawyers, and experts from across Europe for an in depth discussion of some of the most significant legal and procedural issues emerging from recent Unified Patent Court (UPC) case law.

Monza Fast Future: Politecnico di Milano supports students in a pathway on energy, environment and health

Over 100 students from three secondary schools in Monza took part in a program promoted by the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano as part of the Monza Fast Future festival, dedicated to the themes of energy, environment, and health.

Guided by faculty members, researchers, and PhD candidates, the students developed innovative proposals on the energy transition and sustainability, which were presented through 20 final posters at the Arengario in Monza.

POLICAP inaugurated, the mobile laboratory of the Department of Energy for CO₂ capture

POLICAP is a new mobile laboratory from Politecnico di Milano, inaugurated in Piacenza, dedicated to capturing CO₂ from industrial emissions. Funded under the European ECCSELLENT project (PNRR), the facility is designed to develop and test CCUS technologies in real industrial environments using chemical solvents for post-combustion CO₂ absorption. Thanks to its mobile and flexible configuration, it can operate directly on flue gases from hard-to-abate sectors such as steelworks and cement plants. Its goal is to improve capture efficiency and support industrial-scale deployment through experimental data and advanced digital modeling.
