Politecnico di Milano coordinates the JetZero project to develop defossilized fuels for the aviation of the future

The research project “Jet e-fuels a emissioni zero – JetZero” has been officially approved and funded by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE). Coordinated by the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano and led by Prof. Carlo Giorgio Visconti, the project aims to pioneer innovative sustainable fuels for aviation.

Department of Energy at Gastech 2025

From 9 to 12 September, Gastech 2025 – Exhibition & Conference took place at Fiera Milano, the world’s largest event dedicated to natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, and technologies for the energy transition. The Milan edition brought together over 1,000 speakers and more than 50,000 industry stakeholders, aiming to foster innovation and new strategic partnerships.

In Lecco, the international seminar on the future and strategic aspects of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)

From 28 to 30 July 2025, the Lecco campus of the Politecnico di Milano hosted the International Seminar on Nuclear Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulics Analysis (IS-ReCTHA-2), an international event dedicated to the challenges and perspectives of next-generation nuclear energy, with a particular focus on Small Modular Reactors. The seminar was organized by professors Marco Pellegrini and Stefano Lorenzi from the Department of Energy and brought together experts from universities, research centers, safety authorities, and leading companies in the field from Italy and abroad.

Specializing Master in Nuclear Safeguards: the third edition organized as part of the European SENSSEtt project is underway

The third edition of the Specializing Master in Nuclear Safeguards, a training programme aimed at preparing professionals in the field of nuclear safeguards, is now underway.

Organized by the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with ENEN (European Nuclear Education Network) l’European Joint Research Centre (JRC), Academic institution participating in the European Nuclear Education Network, ESARDA (Enhancing R&D in Nuclear Safeguards) partners and other international organizations (e.g. IAEA), the Specializing Master is now in its third edition, starting in November 2025.
