Experimental tests on the prototype of a vertical-axis wind turbine installed on a robot simulating the motion of a floating offshore platform restarted at the Politecnico di Milano wind tunnel. The activity is part of the PNRR project NEST – Network for Energy Sustainable Transition (funded by the EU– NEXTGenerationEU) and specifically as part of Spoke 2 “Energy harvesting & Offshore renewable”.
On October 31, at the Mapei Auditorium in Milan, Matteo Maestri, professor in the Department of Energy at the Politecnico di Milano, received the “Giorgio Squinzi” Medal awarded by the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) – Division of Industrial Chemistry, in memory of entrepreneur Giorgio Squinzi, who passed away in 2019.
In October, a delegation from the Electrical Systems for Energy research group was hosted by Huawei at its research centers in Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Shanghai.

On Friday, October 10th, the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master program Hydrogen Systems and Enabling Technologies (HySET) took place at the Castello del Valentino in Turin. The program is dedicated to training professionals with multidisciplinary knowledge in the hydrogen sector.
On 23–24 September 2025, the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano hosted the General Assembly of the European MARPOWER project at the EN:lab building on the Bovisa Campus. The project is funded under Horizon Europe (Grant Agreement No. 101138341).
The research project “An innovative Multi-Energy Systems design and optimization tool for evaluating decarbonization opportunities”, the result of a collaboration between researchers from Eni and Plenitude (S.
