Padovani Enrico

Enrico Padovani, born in 1957, is Assistant Professor of Nuclear Reactor Physics at Politecnico di Milano since 1992. He graduated with honors in Nuclear Engineering in 1986. After graduating he worked in companies in the fields of high-accuracy dimensional measurement and composite materials. In 1988-90 he carried out research in the field of digital signal processing at ENEA in Bologna. In 1991-1992 he carried out research in the field of numerical simulation of seismic waves at the Osservatorio Geofisico Sperimentale of Trieste. His research activity at the Politecnico di Milano has developed along 3 main lines: i) neutron calculations for the burning of nuclear fuel, evolution of the radiotoxicity inventory, Monte Carlo shielding calculations; ii) development and application of neural networks in signal analysis for identification, diagnostics and optimization problems; iii) extension of the Monte Carlo particle transport codes MCNP and MCNPX to the case of correlated events: the new MCNP-PoliMi code and –PoliMi patch for MCNPX have been included in the program library of the Radiation Safety Information Computational Center at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA, in 2004 (code CCC-718) and 2012 (code CCC-791), respectively.

Education

Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering, Università di Bologna, 1986.
