Energy conversion systems (GECOS)

The Energy Conversion Systems (GECOS) group focuses on the study and development of technologies for energy conversion and storage, with a focus on industrial applications and the generation of thermal and electrical power. The research covers polygenerative systems, CO₂ capture, hydrogen production and use, and synthetic fuels such as methanol, biofuels and e-fuels.

The group works on advanced technologies between TRL 4 and 8, combining numerical simulations with practical experiments. It uses commercial tools and internally developed models to optimise energy efficiency and promote the transition towards sustainable energy.
