Gatti Manuele
Manuele Gatti, born in 1984, is an Associate Professor of Energy Systems since 2022.
He has spent his academic career at the Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated with honors in Mechanical Engineering (winner of the national ATI-ANIMP award for thesis in 2009) and received a PhD in Energy with honors in 2014.
His expertise and research activities focus on techno-economic analyses and the design and optimization of processes and technologies for industrial decarbonization (CO₂ capture and high-temperature heat pumps), biofuel production, and numerical models and equations of state for calculating thermodynamic properties of fluids for energy applications.
He serves as principal investigator for Politecnico di Milano in European and national projects funded through competitive calls (e.g., Horizon Europe) and is co-inventor of three patents.
He is actively involved in several research collaborations with universities, national and international companies in the fields of industrial decarbonization, CO₂ Capture, Utilization and Storage technologies (CCUS), and thermophysical properties of fluids for energy applications.
He teaches the courses “Energy Systems,” “Renewable Energy,” and “Sistemi Energetici” for students in Energy Engineering and Management Engineering.
Education
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, 2009;
PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology, Politecnico di Milano, 2014.

Scientific Disciplinary Sector
