Giuffrida Antonio
Antonio Giuffrida graduated with honours with a five-year degree in Mechanical Engineering – Energy and a PhD in “Energy Systems and Environment”. At Politecnico di Milano since 2008, he was first a researcher and then an associate professor from 2018. His research focuses on the engineering of energy conversion components, systems and processes with reference to advanced energy systems with gas turbines and combined cycles, coal gasification, CO2 capture technologies, with expertise ranging to volumetric machines for direct and reverse cycles and industrial applications. His experience is enhanced by his participation in numerous research projects with companies and public bodies, both nationally and supranationally. He is the author or co-author of over eighty scientific publications in international journals and national and international conference proceedings, as well as co-inventor of a patent. He is also an active reviewer for several international journals and is a member of the editorial board of two of them. In the field of education, he teaches Energy Machines and Systems to undergraduate students, supervises several master’s theses and is one of the contact persons for international mobility programmes for Erasmus students.
