Astolfi Marco
Marco Astolfi is an associate professor at the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano and holds a PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology. His research focuses on energy conversion systems, with particular attention to Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC), supercritical CO₂ cycles and energy storage systems. He has collaborated with institutions such as MIT and companies such as Eni, Exergy and Saipem, contributing to the development of innovative technologies for energy efficiency and sustainability.
Author of numerous scientific articles and co-editor of the book “Organic Rankine Cycle Power Systems”, Astolfi was chairman of the ASME IGTI ORC committee and a founding member of KCORC, an association for the dissemination of knowledge about ORCs. He has participated in major European projects such as FLEXICAL, BACKCAP, RESTORE, sCO₂-flex, DESOLINATION and CO₂OLHEAT, working on thermodynamic modelling, technical-economic analyses and regulation strategies to improve the integration of renewable energies into energy systems. He is a lecturer in Energy Conversion, supervises numerous master’s theses and is a contact person for international mobility programmes for Erasmus students.
