Giostri Andrea

Andrea Giostri, graduated with honors from Politecnico di Milano in 2009 (winner of the national ATI-ANIMP award in 2010) and earned a PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology in 2014, also from Politecnico di Milano. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano. His expertise focuses on the techno-economic simulation of complex energy systems, particularly those based on renewable energy sources (concentrated solar power), applied to energy storage (Pumped Thermal Energy Storage, metal fuels) and innovative power cycles (sCO₂, oxy-combustion combined cycles). He actively collaborates with various industrial partners, universities, and research centers to develop innovative technological solutions aimed at energy efficiency and sustainability. He serves as advisor and co-advisor for Master’s theses in the field of renewable energy and advanced energy systems, and teaches in post-graduate Master’s programs on topics related to renewable energy and energy storage systems.
Since 2016, he has been responsible for the course “Sistemi Energetici per Ingegneria Fisica” for Bachelor’s students in Physics Engineering, and since 2022 for the course “Power Production from Renewable Energy” for Master’s students in Energy Engineering.
