Guilizzoni Manfredo G.
Manfredo Guilizzoni is associate professor of Thermal Sciences at Politecnico di Milano. He has a M.Sc. in Management Engineering and a Ph.D. in Energy. He is the head of the Fluid-Surface Interaction Laboratory of the Department of Energy, Politecnico di Milano. His main research activities deal – by both experiments and modelling, including Computational Fluid Dynamics – with: wettability and thermal interaction between fluids and engineered surfaces; adiabatic fluid dynamics for gas-liquid and liquid-liquid multiphase flows; thermal-fluid dynamics analyses and modelling in different fields, ranging from heat pipes to satellites to air conditioning systems. Additional research lines focus on: the prediction of wind fields and wind energy potential on complex terrains and using innovative approaches; the optimization of the design and operating policy of trigenerative systems and non-conventional energy conversion systems. These research lines are carried out also within funded projects and in cooperation with industrial and public partners, including the European Space Agency. His teaching activity covers courses of Applied Thermodynamics, Heat transfer and Thermal analysis. He also authored a textbook about Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer.
