Gatti Manuele
Manuele Gatti, born in 1984, has been Associate Professor of Energy and Environmental Systems since 2022.
He has spent his academic career at Politecnico di Milano, where he obtained a Master’s Degree with honours in Mechanical Engineering (winner of the 2009 ATI-ANIMP national award) and a PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology, with honours, in 2014.
His expertise and research focus on technical-economic analysis and the design and optimisation of processes and technologies for industrial decarbonisation (CO₂ capture and high-temperature heat pumps), for the production of biofuels, and on numerical models and equations of state for calculating the thermodynamic properties of fluids for energy applications.
He is the scientific manager for Politecnico di Milano in European and national projects funded through competitive calls (e.g., Horizon Europe) and is co-inventor of three patents.
He has collaborated on several research projects with universities and national and international companies in the fields of industrial decarbonisation, CO₂ capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technologies, and the thermophysical properties of fluids.
He teaches the courses “Energy Systems”, “Renewable Energy” and “Energy Systems” to students of Energy Engineering and Management Engineering.
Education
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, 2009;
PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology, Politecnico di Milano, 2014.
