Molinaroli Luca

Luca Molinaroli (Genoa, 1978) is Associate Professor of Environmental Technical Physics at Politecnico di Milano. He obtained a five-year degree with honours in Mechanical Engineering – Energy in 2003 and a PhD with honours in Energy in 2007, both from Politecnico di Milano. His expertise lies in the field of vapour compression machines for refrigeration, air conditioning and/or heating applications (refrigerators, chillers and heat pumps), both at the individual component level and at the system level. His research activities also focus on this area, with particular reference to mixtures of carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons as working fluids for such devices and the development of algorithms for fault identification and analysis based on artificial neural networks. These activities are mainly conducted experimentally at the Refrigerant Fluids Laboratory, of which he is the contact person.
